Terms

visit-saipan.com is a planning tool. You answer four questions and it builds a Saipan itinerary with a price on it. It is operated by Justin Tan.

We are not a travel agency, a tour operator or a booking site. We hold no money, issue no tickets, make no reservations and are not party to anything you book. Everything you book, you book with the airline, hotel or operator themselves.

There is no account and nothing to sign up for. Using the site is the whole of the relationship, and you can stop at any time by closing the tab.

Every price on this site is a figure we recorded from a named source on a named date, and the interface tells you which and when. That is the promise the product is built on, and it is a promise about provenance — not about what you will be charged.

• A price here is informational. It is not an offer, a quotation or a guarantee, and nobody is bound by it.
• Some figures are marked as estimates rather than checked prices. Those are our arithmetic, and they say so.
• Prices in Korean won are converted from US dollars at a rate we pinned on a stated day. The rate moves; the pin does not.
• Confirm the real price with the operator before you book. Where we have a phone number, it is on the page.

The same goes for opening hours, status and availability. Saipan after Typhoon Sinlaku is a place where a resort can advertise a waterpark that is closed, and this site exists partly to say so — but a status we recorded last month can still be wrong today.

The days it builds are a reasonable order for a real trip, with real travel times and real opening hours. Some of the rules behind it are safety rules — a scuba dive is not placed on your last island day, because of the interval published diving guidance asks for between diving and flying, and this site refuses to schedule one there rather than warning you about it.

That is a scheduling rule, not medical, diving or safety advice. Your dive operator and your doctor decide whether you may dive, at what interval and in what condition. Nothing generated here overrides either of them.

The same applies to everything else the plan implies: minimum ages, swimming ability, road conditions, the weather and your own fitness are yours and the operator’s to judge. We describe; we do not certify.

We tell you what a Korean visitor generally needs to enter the Northern Mariana Islands, and we name the date we checked it and the authority we checked it against. Entry rules change without notice and are decided by a government, not by us.

Use the official government sites we link to and nothing else. Sites charging eighty to a hundred dollars for a form that is free, or that costs twenty-one dollars, exist in quantity and are not affiliated with anybody official.

Insurance, health requirements, visas for other nationalities and anything about your onward travel are outside what this site covers.

When you book, you leave this site. The terms of that booking are the operator’s and your agreement is with them — including their cancellation policy, their refunds and their liability. We are not a party to it and cannot resolve a dispute about it.

Some outbound links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes a price, and it never changes what the site recommends: what appears in an itinerary is decided by the plan, not by who pays.

Wherever we can, we link to the property or operator directly rather than to a booking aggregator, because a booking made through an aggregator costs a small island business a fifth of it.

Your trip is carried in its web address, which spells out your party — including the ages of any children travelling. Anyone holding the link can read it. Send it as carefully as you would send anything else that describes your family.

A link you share is frozen at the moment you shared it, so the person you sent it to keeps seeing the trip you sent rather than whatever you changed afterwards. Send it again to update them.

The privacy policy explains where else that address travels. It is the part of this site with the most surprising consequences and it is worth reading.

• Use the site to plan travel. That is what it is for and there is no other permitted purpose worth listing.
• Do not scrape the catalogue, the prices or the photographs, and do not republish them as a dataset. The prices cost real work to verify.
• Do not try to reach trips that are not yours, or to enumerate saved trips by guessing identifiers.
• Do not use the site to break a law, or in a way that degrades it for anybody else.

This is a site for the adult planning a trip. It is not designed for or directed at children.

The words, the itineraries, the catalogue and the interface are ours. You may read them, print your own plan and send your link to whoever you like. You may not take the underlying data and rebuild a competing product out of it.

Many photographs on this site are licensed from their photographers under Creative Commons terms, and the credit shown on the image is a condition of that licence rather than decoration. Those images stay under their own licence: ours to show here, not ours to give away. Reuse them from their source, on their terms.

We build this carefully and we check what we publish. We do not warrant that it is complete, current or error-free, and the site is provided as it is.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from relying on a price, a status, an opening time or an itinerary generated here — including a booking made or missed because of one. Where the law does not allow that, our liability is limited to the minimum the law permits.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the consumer law of the country you live in. If a clause here conflicts with a protection you cannot waive, that protection wins and the rest of these terms stands.

The site changes constantly — prices are re-checked, places close and reopen, and itineraries improve. We may change or withdraw any part of it, and we do not promise it will be available without interruption.

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. A change that materially affects you will be announced on the site rather than made quietly.

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
